What's New?
Move Skills from Company Role to User
Employees can have multiple Company Roles, and Company Roles can change over time, so having the Skill competencies held at Company Role level can add an extra admin headache to the managers and assessors who are trying to ensure everything is up to date. For this reason, we are moving all user Skill competencies from being managed at Company Role level, to user level.
Skills Dashboard
To assist with the management of employee Skills, we have added a set of expiry statistics to the Dashboard. These will work in a very similar way to the existing Dashboard statistics for Assessments and Support Plans.
Clicking on one of the tiles here will take you to the relevant tab on the Skills Expiring page.
From here, you can click the link on the Skill Name to check the Skill Signing History for that user's Skill competency, or you can click the 'View Employee Skills' link to open that user's Skill Competencies page in a separate tab.
Revoke a User's Skill Competency
In the event that you deem an employee to no longer be competent in a particular Skill before the expiry date of that Skill, you will now be able to revoke the employee's Skill competency rather than editing the expiry date, or deleting the Skill, allowing you to build up an accurate record of the employee's competency over time.
If the employee is able to prove their competence in the revoked Skill, then the Skill can simply be renewed.
Skills Admin Management - Archive
We have included a function to archive Skills via the Skills Admin Management page, so that you can ensure that a Skill can no longer be assigned to anyone, but won't affect anyone who currently holds that Skill. Allowing you to phase out the use of an old Skill which you no longer wish to use. Archived Skills will no longer appear in the list of available Skills when awarding a new Skill competency to an employee.
Skills Admin Management - Tie a Skill to a Criteria
Via the Skills Admin Management page, you will now be able to select a 'Related Criteria' for a Skill. Once you have related a Criteria to a Skill, EDS will be able to provide suggestions to your assessors to award, renew, or revoke that Skill, based on the Criteria's proficiency rating during an Assessment. If the proficiency rating is above 'Major Improvement Required' then EDS will recommend that the Skill is awarded or renewed, whereas, if the proficiency rating is 'Major Improvement Required' then EDS will recommend that the Skill is revoked.
Manage Skills in Assessments
Whether you have linked Competency Criteria to some of your Skills or not, when you are completing an Assessment on the web, you will now have the ability to manage that employee's Skill Competencies within the Assessment Completion page.
An Existing Skills table will always be included to show you the list of Skill competencies currently held by the employee, their statuses and validity dates, and the options to renew, revoke, or delete them, as well as the ability to award new Skill competencies.
If you have linked some Competency Criteria to Skills via the Admin Management page, when the Criteria are rated during an assessment, EDS will populate the Suggested Skills table with some recommended updates to the employee's Skill competencies, as per the rules mentioned in the 'Tie a Skill to a Criteria' section.
The Suggested Skills table will include several key pieces of information:
- Clicking on the Skill name link of the Skill which is currently held by the employee, will show the signing history of that Skill.
- Clicking on the Linked Criteria Rating link will open the supporting information modal for that Criteria rating, so that you can confirm that you had captured enough detail to award the Skill competency to the employee.
Once you have completed the Assessment, any changes you have made to Skills during the Assessment will be summarised in the new Skills tab of the Completed Assessment page.
Bug Fixes
Bug: Zendesk Ref: 121750 - Verification Statements showing random statement numbers
Fix: We have removed the "Statement 1" prefix from the display of the Verification statements, giving more space for the statement itself.
